Move Week

Tuesday after work I met parents, and dragged one of their (cough newly acquired) suitacses to the train. After we managed to get a rush hour train that actaully stopped at the airport all was well.
We checked them in, had some dinner and then did the farewells. I asusme afterthis they got on the plane and fell asleep. I however, took a further two hours getting back from the airport due to the ever frequent late night train system which New York so proudly offers. *ahem*

Wednesday the new girl started work. She seems to be doing well, but was confused (as everyone is) by the illogical switchboard. Wednesday night was Louise's work farewell party, however I had to attend ther product fare instead. :(
Althought we were required to arrive by 6pm to set up - which, yes that does mean I have to virtually sprint uptown to make it on time- the actual event didnt kick off until nearly 7.30pm! Which meant it didnt end until nearly 10pm! We had to present our 'invention' complete with marketing literature, pricing plans, promotional tools, logo's and slogans. Who knew, but our product was actaully endorsed by GHD! (we are well connected arnt we?)
The winners invented loans for poor african villages. - techinaically I dont think this is a 'product' as such, but they won because its about time america considered afrcia dont you think? Yes. I know what your thinking. This doesnt seem like a very good marking criteria. My thoughts exactly...

Anyway!

Thursday was Louise's very last day (she has many), We met up on the way to work purely by coincidence so had coffee in Starbucks on the way in, then later the office manager took us -Louise, me & the replacement Maryam- out for lunch. It was very good. Unfortunately I didnt eat anything that day prior to the toast to louise.. and possibly was a little drunk following by salad. Note to self, eat steak next time...
After work I said my farewells to Louise and then headed home to pack up my own things for the move on Saturday.

Friday was Maryam's first day. She was fine, unitl an attorney wanted a hundred things researched and printed off for monday and she had a small melt down.
Luckily we were having a work night out that night to welcome Steve as a partner tot he firm. So she was able to have a stiff drink (on the company credit card of course) to make her feel better.
The night went on and the numbers declined gradually. We visited 3 bars on Wall Street and made a good dent in the evenings funds I think. By the end there was only a handful of us, but we soldiered on.. (I am not a quitter!) I arrived home about 3am - not bad given we started the drinking around 6pm.!

Saturday morning I woke up late-ish. Noticed Suba & all her belongings had jumped out of the room and across the hall to another room and a note had been left stating which rooms I had been allocated for cleaning. Nice ay?
I also found a girl called Kirsty in my living room - I still dont know who she is- and Vicky the girl who was supposed to be moving in next week, complete with ALL her stuff drinking tea on the sofa.
I set about with my cleaning requirements & Moving and then decided I simply must invite Jen round to eat the spare bread. Jen came and we ate toast and drank tea. The we headed to Doriens for drinks.

Sunday I had arranged brunch with Jen & Raj, however neithe one of them turned up at the pre-determined location & time. (typical)
Turns out Raj had slept in. I would have called Jen, but for the fact her phone is broken and she is in no hurry to fix it! I went to call round at her house and discovered she had gone early and returned home with her latte as she 'wanted to get on' - pft!
Raj and I went for belated brunch and then wandered around Newport for a while, then I headed back to see how Vicky's unpacking chaos was going. Seems it wasnt going all that well, she was going to need 'a few more days'...
I watched Mr & Mrs Smith while she unpacked around me.

Tonight I have another one-on-one meeting with my tutor on my marketing project. I shoudl at somepoint begin that, so that when we discuss my progress I can say something constructive.. ah well, there's still a few hours..

Pics coming soon!
