This week has been different.

Despite my incredible poverty I managed to fill my week with many free things!

For a start the first two nights I had class. I spent the next few shopping, and doing chores (a necessary evil).

Saturday I went to Flushing park in Queens for a volunteer project with Maryam. Despite several train mishaps on the way and Maryam and I being split up during a dramtic door shutting on foot incident we made it a mere 20 mins late!

Although we hand signed up for a tree planting project we arrived and were handed paint and brushes. Ah well. Turns out the project entitled 'revitalizing' the park was prone to change and now we were required to paint park benches! [see pics]
Never fear, we got to work painting the benches in elaborate swirls and dots- to be filled in later of course -and managed to burn quite nicely in the process.

Afterwards Maryam and I hit the pub for some lunch and then back to the apt, where I fell asleep.

Monday I had a meeting with Mountbatten about the reception duties at work. Apparently someone had complained and this is how it is dealt with. I explained the phones were old, dodgy, and incredibly unreliable and they seemed satisifed with my efforts :) Maryam also had a chat- but I feel I stole most of the good excuses! lol..
Following this we had to get pizza to calm her down and then met some of her friends from uni in Bryant park for 'film in the park' night. However it was raining and I didnt feel the need to watch a film outside at night in the rain so I headed home.

Other than this I have been too poor to do much this week- however pay day is soon so more stuff will be happeneing!!
