This could not have come sooner- work is getting tiring and we are all in need of some sleep. Therefore Friday night we went out. lol.
Started off in a bar called Madame X in the Lower East Side- but this was full of Mountbat's strangely, so we (Jen, Hima, Rich & me) went to another bar slightly less central to find some actual americans!
This was called Piano's and was a lot more fun. Plays live music on friday nights - altho it was too crowded to see anything- it was good listening :)
managed to spend a good part of the night in this bar and rolled in at 4am - i dont really kno how... 1 bar... plus drinks.....??!!
Saturday I got my lie in at last! I surfaced about 1pm lol. went to get food with Dina, at Duane Reade and then stayed in and had a girly afternoon. Dina and some of the guys went out to an Asian night in the evening - but given I was kancked from night before (dina didnt go out friday) and in the white minority, i decided to stay in and sleep horah!
Sunday- suprise suprise, Dina would not budge until after lunch time from night before - so I took myself out for brunch to Brooklyn Diner -as recommended my Adam- had amazing food (which I was in need of as a break from all the plastic tasting junk). Then I headed down to Battery Park where a man (realising i was english) told me the one thing the royal family needed was a black member. And he, would be the one to make that happen.. apparently Princess Anne was the person of choice.... enough said!
I met Jen in the Park and then hopped on the Ferry to Staten Island to do the touristy thing to photograph and buy postcards of a huge statue that i can see from work anyway.lol. - Do it once - dont bother again. I did get some good pics up-close tho- and the view of Manhatten was worth the money.
Ellis island is yet to visit as it was too late in the day- but i plan to go soon and visit the immigration museum there.
In the evening Jen and I got takeaway and then took the Path train home.
Back to work now typing this up - but watch this space for the next update! ( i know you cant wait!)
